| Introduced in 1942, the German Tiger I was produced to match the T-34 and KV-1 tanks. Two and a half years after the first Tiger’s release, the late production variant of the Tiger 1 was built in 1944. New features included a turret with commander’s cupola with seven vision points, steel-rimmed wheels that were insulated by two rubber rings clamped between disc-shaped pressings, anti-aircraft machine gun ring, side pivoting hatch, loader’s hatch with periscope, and smoke exhaust outlet located in the center of the turret.
